Thank you Dianne for being our constant inspiration.
The pain I have felt over the last five year is the strength that has been the driving force behind Lennon house. I had always felt that there has to be a bigger picture here when this happened to our family. Addiction and mental health disorders are a part of many families. When addiction takes over your loved one , there is no feeling in the world more helpless.
Grieving is such a roller coaster ride, one day it feels like the worst is over the next it feels like the beginning where you are doing your best to live each day. Recovery from grief is not a uphill path, there are many set backs . I feel that way about life in general we all have our ups and downs. I have learned though all of this loss that every set back is a lesson to help us to become stronger.
Lennon has given people hope , I remember when he would have grandiose thoughts when he was very sick , he would often say , Mom I am going to do some thing big some day . Theses are the days , he was talking about. He is doing something big , I believe he and I are just part of the plan to do the work that we are asked to do to make the world a better place .
People that have passed on are still with us , helping us to continue with the plan , we do not always at first know what that plan is, I just had to have faith that in the end many people will find recovery through his pain and suffering. He did not end his life in vain.
Now on this adventure of life there is work to be done. Over the years there have been many people that have worked right along with me and without them this dream would not have taken shape. There also has been times where I have felt like I was in a battle and had to protect Lennon house. I have learned to always , always lesson to your gut, that is God warning me , all of this has value .
This past few weeks I feel we have been given wonderful support from our province. Minister Pat Murphy has been an awesome help , Rural development have given us the funding to get the siding on the house ! As well as finish the other renovations , we are very grateful to all who had a hand in this . We had a wonderful meeting with Minister Tina Mundy yesterday , I feel her department will also be a great support in the stage of opening the door of Lennon house. Minister of work force and advanced learning Sonny Gallant has also been a wonderful support with the , they have all been to Lennon house and shown support. We also had a visit from the Minister of health Robert Mitchell. Honorable Wade MacLauchlan come to our pancake breakfast fundraiser 🙂 They have shown us wonderful support., which I am very grateful . I am very thankful to all the past board members they all played a part in getting us to where we are today . I really feel that you do not get any where in life by putting people down or political parties down. I know there are many that say the Gov. have not done enough . Well I like to think that if your not happy with something then be the change you want to see in the world . If everyone took responsibly to make change happen this world would be a better place. So on this day five years have passed there is a lot to reflect upon.
I have been blessed with four children , one of them is in heaven . I do believe that his spirit is working right along with the holy spirit , touching peoples lives , helping people to understand we all have worth . People can and do get recovery , there are those that did not make it in this world they are still with us , helping us on the road to healing . I thank you all for being apart of this great adventure and the support of communities across our province and country . We have been supported financially by people across the country . Those people are also waiting for Lennon house to open our doors. Lennon such has made a difference in my world as well as touch the lives of many . Thank you all for the kind worlds and hugs today some days are harder than others , God Bless
